Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank has mentioned that he would like one of the FIFA World Cup host sites to be the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia more than once, and based on new reports, it looks like his lofty dream may become a reality.
Recently, soccer fans were delighted to learn that the soccer federations of the United States, Mexico, and Canada planned to combine forces to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which now seems not only plausible but also pretty likely to happen.
Of course, this means that the World Cup will have to be hosted somewhere nearby, and a new, outlined plan listed many U.S. cities to host the many soccer matches that would be held – with a few also taking place in Mexico and Canada.
One of the possible stadiums mentioned is the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Unfortunately, ESPN has stated that the overall FIFA bid process could take until 2020, so we won’t know for sure until quite some time. But hey, reports are looking good for Arthur Blank.

Every year on Memorial Day weekend, Zoo Atlanta hosts Brew at the Zoo, an awesome tradition that includes tons of craft brews and specialty wines within the award-winning zoo. And this year, Brew at the Zoo is celebrating at 10-year anniversary.
The event will include more than 70 brews and a limited selection of wines, with the opportunity to explore the lives of more than 1,000 animals, including giant pandas and apes.
Brew at the Zoo 2017 will take place on May 27, with general admission starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a VIP pre-party that takes place at 4:30 p.m., and the entire event will end at 9:30 p.m. General admission for non-members costs $50 and will include a commemorative Brew at the Zoo tasting cup.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the brand was founded in 1967 as an engine development and production company. The initials “AMG” stand for Aufrecht, Melcher, and Grossaspach—Aufrecht and Melcher were the founders, while Grossaspach was the former’s hometown. Mercedes-Benz has been the global sponsor of the Masters Tournament since 2014, one of the world’s premier golf competitions. Held every year at the Augusta National Golf Club in early April, this tournament is truly a spectacle. Mercedes had been an international sponsor since 2008, a great match for both the tournament and the automaker.
According to the official Masters Tournament website, the Masters Tournament history is impressive. Originally called the “Augusta National Invitational,” this competition was started in 1934 and was won by Horton Smith. Prominent players who have also won in the past include Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus (the “Big Three” of the 1960s and 1970s). Believe it or not, prize money can exceed nearly $9 million.

Construction on the new Mercedes-Benz stadium is almost complete and the first team to take the field has been announced. Atlanta United, a Major League Soccer team, will play its first season game this summer. The announcement confirms that the stadium will be completed in time for this year’s major sporting events, including the 2017-18 NFL season.
The new Mercedes-Benz stadium cost $1.5 billion and is in the final stages of construction. Workers are currently putting the finishing touches on locker rooms, suites, concessions, and offices. The retractable roof and lower bowl section are nearly complete as well.
“What has been a work that has gone in for several years, now we’re on the edge of planning to execution,” said Steve Cannon, CEO of the Arthur Blank Group in charge of the stadium. “We’re in full speed mode. The pace of our construction has increased.”
The Arthur Blank Group will take control between April and June. The Atlanta Falcons will take the field for two preseason games as well as the season opener in August. Two concerts will take place in August as well.
The new Mercedes-Benz stadium replaces the Georgia Dome, which will host its final event in March before demolition.
German luxury brand Mercedes-Benz is celebrating its 50th anniversary of partnership with AMG in a big way and the performance brand is out to make it the best year ever. Period. The AMGhigh-performance brand is pulling out the big guns with the all-new Mercedes-Benz GT C coupe. The latest addition to the GT family is the perfect way to celebrate such a milestone!
Mercedes-Benz’s 50th anniversary with AMG goes off with a roaring 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers a blazing 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque. The all-new GT C coupe boasts a 0-to-60 mph time of just 3.6 seconds and a top speed just shy of 200 mph.
The GT C coupe is slated to sit above the GT and GT S and below the GT R. The AMG GT C roadster that the coupe is modeled after debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show just a few months ago.
The luxury brand will produce just 50 units of the special-edition GT C coupe on its initial run. A larger production run is slated to follow shortly after. The automaker has yet to provide a starting price for the GT C coupe.
We’ve finally reached the year of 2017, which means there will be plenty of film festivals to attend, but no matter how many you visit, none will be more impressive than the Atlanta Film Festival. Known as one of the largest and longest-running film festivals in the United States, the annual Atlanta Film Festival stretches a full week.
Founded in 1976 by what’s now known as the Atlanta Film Festival 365, a nonprofit media arts organization, the Atlanta Film Festival draws in more than 25,000 independent visitors each year. Past honorees have included stars like Burt Reynolds and Spike Lee.
More than 150 films that encompass everything from documentaries to animation to locally produced projects will take the silver screen over the week-long event. Attendees can take advantage of Festival Genius to watch trailers and schedule screenings on their own personal festival calendar.
Those planning to attend can find the Atlanta Film Festival in full swing at the Plaza Theater, Goat Farm Arts Center, and Callanwolde Arts Center. The 41st annual film festival kicks off on March 24th and runs through April 2nd.
